Popular Home Styles and Their Matching GAF Shingles

Your choice of roof shingles can have big effect on your home’s appearance and curb appeal. The right shingles can complement the style of your home and add a lot of value. Quality Assurance Roofing is a residential roofing expert and GAF Master Elite™ contractor, allowing us to offer and install GAF’s full range of shingles.

Here are a few of our recommendations for shingle types and home styles:

Ranch

Ranch homes typically have a lower pitched roof, a simple exterior, and a rectangular or L-shape layout. They also have a brick, stucco, or wood exterior. You can complement this architectural style by using Grand Sequoia®, Grand Canyon®, and Timberline® shingles. These products add character to a ranch home’s simple exterior because they mimic the look of wood shake. Because of the typical Ranch color scheme, we recommend different tones of grays, browns, and blacks for the roof color.

Modern or Contemporary

Modern or contemporary homes have an irregularly shaped frame, clean roof lines, and a low-pitched or flat roof. They also have large windows and a simple design and form. This style of home will look great with Slateline® shingles. This product features tapered cut-outs and bold shadow lines that capture the authentic look of slate. As the top roofing contractor in our area, we recommend using darker grays and browns for the roof color. These shades can make your Slateline roof look sophisticated.

Craftsman

Craftsman homes have a broad front porch and an asymmetrical door and window compositions. They also feature a shallow pitched roof and tapered columns. This architectural style also looks great with Timberline, Grand Canyon, or Grand Sequoia shingles. The realistic wood shake look complements the home’s design. For typical Craftsman color schemes, however, we recommend using earthy colors like greens, browns, and grays.

These are just some of the design possibilities, but if you want more detailed or specific advice for your home, Quality Assurance Roofing is the top choice for residential and commercial roofing in our area. We have earned several certifications from industry-leading manufacturers. Give us a call toll-ree at (800) 928-7026 to learn more about home styles and their matching shingles.
