Hurricane Season Roof Inspection

Hurricane season in Rogers over the last few years has been devastating to the area—especially the homes. Every year, more and more houses succumb to roof damage from the storms brought on by summer’s hurricanes and tropical storms. At Quality Assurance Roofing, we specialize in providing storm-damage reconstruction and repair.

Some signs to look for before and after a storm:

Make sure you accurately prepare before you and your home become victim to property damage from high winds, hours of rain, and even flying debris. Also, be careful that no water is leaking into your ceiling, and be sure to note how long it’s been since your last roof inspection; your roof should be inspected every 2-4 years to keep it in optimal shape. Be sure to keep an eye out for loose shingles as these are signs of roof damage that can cause water and mold to enter into your home.

After a storm, check your gutters and see what state they’re in. If they’re in need of painting, repair, cleaning or a complete replacement, chances are your roof needs attention, too. This is even more evident if your home’s gutters are clogged and you start to notice leaks along the interior and outside walls. Check for any debris accumulation such as loose branches and piles of leaves. These piles are traps for moisture which can lead to loose shingles, mold, indoor leaks, or even infestation of vermin inside your home.
