How Not to Void Your Roofing Warranties

Almost everything we purchase nowadays has some form of warranty coverage. Roofing is no exception; in fact, the roofing industry offers some of the most reliable and extensive warranties. Bear in mind, however, warranties differ from one another.

Quality Assurance Roofing, the premier roofing contractor, shares some ways to prevent voiding your roofing warranties.

Ventilation

Heat can get trapped in your attic when there isn’t enough ventilation in the area. Moisture buildup is also likely to occur, which can hasten the decay of the roofing materials. It’s important to have proper ventilation in this room to regulate the intake and outtake of air, which can keep your roofing shingles at an ideal temperature.

Installation

Most roofing manufacturers furnish contractors with the standards for installing their residential or commercial roofing product. These include the specifics, such as the number of nails per shingle, nail length and others.

Antennas and Satellite Dishes

These two items can affect the validity of your roofing warranty. Since the antennas and satellite dishes are drilled into the roofing system, they can void the portion that covers leaking.

Roof Cleaning

Shingles aren’t designed to withstand the effects of close-range pressure. Pressure washing to clean the moss can cause the roofing granules to be blown away from the asphalt shingles. As an alternative, use metallic zinc strips to eliminate this problem.

At Quality Assurance Roofing, we offer excellent commercial and residential roofing services to meet your needs. We provide a variety of roofing materials from leading roofing companies, such as GAF, CertainTeed® and Owens Corning®.
