Features & Benefits of Mule-Hide Single-Ply Roofing Options

Mule-Hide is one of the most trusted names in commercial roofing. It offers premium low-slope products that meet the current and emerging needs of design communities.

At Quality Assurance Roofing, we work with Mule-Hide to provide you with a strong and long-lasting roofing system. Here are the special features and benefits of its single-ply roofing options.

EPDM

Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) is a high-tensile strength single-ply membrane that is perfect for long-term watertight integrity. It works well for new construction and retrofit systems without adding too much weight to the decking. This material will not split or crack as it remains flexible in hot and cold temperatures. It provides superior resistance against ozone and ultraviolet (UV) rays. This option can also handle extremely hot and cold temperatures.

TPO

It shouldn’t take your roofing contractor long to install a Mule-Hide thermoplastic polyolefin membrane (TPO) roofing system. White membranes can reflect up to 78% of solar heat. The high reflectivity of white TPO reduces the heat buildup under the membrane. TPO offers excellent resistance to fire, UV, airborne bacteria and industrial pollutants. It has no chlorine, which is great for the environment. Despite being lightweight, it keeps moisture out, making it ideal for new construction and retrofit applications. It also withstands harsh temperatures, weather extremes and rooftop traffic.

PVC

A small, trained crew can easily install Mule-Hide’s polyvinyl chloride (PVC) roofing system. A PVC white membrane isn’t only aesthetically appealing; it’s energy-efficient as well. It stays flexible in hot and cold temperatures, meaning it won’t split or crack. PVC resists fire, UV, airborne bacteria and industrial pollutants. The reinforced membrane is designed to remain dimensionally stable for years. It weighs less than one pound per square foot so it won’t add excessive weight to the roof deck. Moreover, Mule-Hide PVC roofs use a heat-welding process that fuses the membrane seams to form a permanent, watertight seal.
